Red Ribbon Week was a Success!

It was great to see the student's excitement as they dressed up each day for Red Ribbon Week.  There was a lot of participation and it was a lot of fun.  As the students went to the assembly on Friday the halls and then the bleachers were filled with red.  It looked wonderful.  Thanks to all those who donated coats in our efforts to "Put drugs out in the cold."  Below are a few highlights from the assembly on Friday.

THANK YOU to Celeste Robinson, Jessica Woodland and their committeefor a great and successful Red Ribbon Week!

Student Body Officers put on a skit for the students at the assembly.
They did awesome!
Ashley Yates and Cameron Robinson (two Juab High School students) talked to the kids about being drug free and saying "NO!" to drugs.

Officer Davidson and his drug dog.
They showed us what the dog can do and how he protects Officer Davidson.
Officer Davidson then answered questions from the students.

5 students chosen as the Play of the Week 10/18/10

ShyAnne Ostler, Austin Johnson, Addison Seely, Brodey Jackson, and Katelyn Frentheway are 4th graders in Miss Sorensen's class.  They are always encouraging each other and when one of these students does something good, the others will give this student a thumbs up and sometimes applause.  Great job, students.  It's great to see you working as a team.  You are definitely soaring to success!

Alexis Nelson was the Play of the Week 10/04/10

Alexis Nelson is a student in Mrs. Hanson's 4th grade class.  She picks up garbage around the school every day.  She helps our school look great!  Thanks, Alexis.  Keep up the good work!

Red Ribbon Week October 18-22

Red Ribbon Week begins Monday, October 18 at Red Cliffs Elementary.  We would like to thank Celeste Robinson and Jessica Woodland and their committee for their help in planning this event.  There are some fun things planned that will help the students learn the importance of staying healthy by making the choice to stay Drug Free.  The overall theme for the week is "Life is what you make it, make it Drug Free."
Each day there is a theme for which the students can dress up:
Monday--"Don't let drugs turn you inside out"
                (Wear clothes inside out)
Tuesday--"Tie down drugs"  (Wear a fun/crazy tie)
Wednesday--"Sock it to drugs"
(Wear fun and craxy socks--good if they show)
Thursday--"Put a Cap on Drugs"  (Wear a hat)
Friday--"Wear red day"
(Wear as much red as possible including RCE shirt)

Those who dress up will have a chance to win a prize in their class with a class drawing.

This year there is also a service opportunity that will occur throughout the entire week.  We want to "Put drugs out in the cold."  We will be collecting coats to be used to benefit those in the community.  There will be bins located throughout the school for the students to put the coats in.  All sizes are needed.

The week will conclude with an assembly on Friday.

We are sure to see lots of smiles this week because it's going to be a lot of fun.
Remember:  "Life is what you make it, make it Drug Free!"

Evacuation Drill held September 29, 2010

Students left the school building at 1:15 on September 29 to practice an evacuation to a secondary location (LDS church house at 222 South 100 East in Nephi).  This was a good way to train faculty, students, and parents in the event we do have an actual emergency.   The safety of our students is a high priority and we want them to feel safe and secure in the case that there is a real emergency and it becomes necessary to relocate.  Thank you for your cooperation as we completed this drill.  We know it took you away from normal routines, but educating you as parents about what will happen in an emergency is just as important as educating the children.
