Creative Arts Contest

The Creative Arts Contest is fast approaching.  Projects are due to the teachers by Monday February 7, 2011.  The theme for this year is "We are a team soaring to success."  Good luck with your projects.  We can't wait to see the students' talents displayed.

Book Fair a Success

There are several reasons why the book fair was successful.  The first one is we were able to get books in the kids' hands.

With buy one get one free that is twice as many books the kids were able to purchase.

The second reason is because we had great people over the book fair.  Thanks to Andrea Echols and Kay Pettit for all your hard work and the many hours you spent preparing for and overseeing this event.

Third, is the many parents who volunteered time to help at the book fair.  Thanks so much!

Buy one Get one FREE at the "County Book Fair"

Today is the first day of the Book Fair.  Everything is buy one get one free.   Students will be allowed to buy during their teacher's buy time.  They may also come during lunch and after school if accompanied by a parent.   The Book Fair will also be open during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday.  Everyone is welcome.

Play of the Week January 24, 2011

Two 2nd grade girls from Mr. Jensen's class were this week's play of the week.  They are Alison Wood and Jerika Barnett.  These two girls stopped to pick up the office floor when it was a mess.  They were not even asked.  Congratulations Alison and Jerika.  Keep helping our team soar to success.

January 10, 2011 Play of the Week

Chantel Taylor from Mr. Cristiansen's 5th grade class is our play of the week.

Mrs. Gledhill was walking down the hall the other day with two armfuls of stuff.  Chantel Taylor came hurrying up to her and said that she would help her with all the stuff.  Mrs. Gledhill told her she was clear down at the other end of the hall.  Chantel said she would just walk back up.  Chantel took most of the bags that Mrs. Gledhill was carrying.  She really appreciated it.  They were heavy.

I have many nominations like this each week from the students and faculty for the play of the week.  It is very hard to choose.  The students at Red Cliffs are very helpful and kind and definitely help our school SOAR TO SUCCESS!  Keep up the good work.  Maybe you will be our next play of the week!

Book Fair--January 24-28

The Book fair is fast approaching.  The book fair will be set up in the South Activity Center beginning on Monday January 24 and ending Friday, January 28.  It will be open during school hours and also during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday.  Our goal is to get books into the students' hands and to encourage a love for reading.

Play of the Week for December 13, 2010 is Jonathon Mitchell and Brandon Thomas

Since school started both Brandon and Jonathon have been helping the custodians clean the lunch room several times a week.  Thanks so much for your willingness to help our school soar to success.
